The 1967 Shelby GT500 is one of the most iconic muscle cars of all time. With its aggressive stance and presence, amazing power from the 428 cubic inch (7 liter) displacement V8 engine and an incredible rumble from the tail pipes, the GT500 gives a driving experience that you will never forget. The 1967 is the most sought after production year due to the iconic design and stylish layout of the interior. 1967 was the first year for the GT500 and this model year is especially iconic with its round high beam headlights and brushed aluminum dashboard - design features that disappeared already in the 1968 model year.
This particular Shelby offered for sale is very unique and still has its original 428 police interceptor engine and 4 speed manual transmission. It is an early (January) 1967 production car (VIN 67402F7U00553) with the inboard headlights which many Shelby enthusiasts consider the most attractive. The car was imported from the USA where it had been stored in a garage for several decades. It has never been restored or welded and is highly original. The rare parchment (off white) interior is original although new leather seat covers are fitted on the front seats (the originals follow the car). The equipment list to the car (as documented by the Marti Report) is extensive and makes this car especially unique. It features the following: Shoulder Harness, Extra Cooling Package, Closed Crankcase Emission System, Exhaust Emission Control, Courtesy Light Group, Sport Deck Rear Seat, Power Disc Brakes, Power Steering, Interior Decor Group, Heavy Duty Battery, Tachometer and Trip Odometer. The original carburetor has been restored as has the transmission and the engine has just received a tune-up and runs very strong. The car was originally lime gold in color but has been re-painted to a high quality Candy Apple Red. The car is documented by a full Marti report and its US title and features in the Shelby Registry. It has both the Ford and the Shelby VIN tags in the engine compartment. The car overall is in good drivers condition with an excellent paint quality.
This is a chance to own a rare and original GT500 4 speed manual at a very attractive price. The GT500 is a great investment opportunity and prices on the global market are on the rise. With a price low in the market for an original GT500 you can make a good investment while having fun!
